Welcome to Poplars Motor Inn Coonabarabran, set amongst the Poplar Trees on the Newell Highway, just 600 metres north of the centre of Coonabarabran. Poplars Motor Inn is ideally located close to shops, restaurants and pubs, directly opposite sporting ovals, the greyhound track and tennis courts, and only a short stroll to Neilson Park picnic area on the banks of the picturesque Castlereagh River with its walking tracks, outdoor gym and children’s playground.

On a recent road trip through NSW the car finally died in Coonabarabran of all places. The garage sent us to Poplars where we didn't know what to expect. What we got was two of the most beautiful, generous and most hospitable hosts that we have ever met. Once they realised our trip was over they offered us an additional free night’s stay and loan of their personal car to drive to the Warrumbungles so the kids could at least have a look around. They drove us to the bus stop to catch a bus home and also offered to keep the car in their backyard until we could tow it back. Who does that? If a motel is judged by how it makes you feel when you leave it then this one is definitely worth five stars. Stayed September 2015, travelled with family.
